Rice and Paellas

Rice is one of our most recognized specialties. In our menu you can find up to 12 varieties depending on the season.

Meats

Meat offers us an infinite range of recipes. From grilled meats, baked or stews that make us travel to those kitchens that cook slowly and in a conscious way. In our menu you will find many options, including what we call "endangered dishes", which claim those stews that over time we have stopped preparing in our home, but which are simply exquisite. Some suggestions are:

• Duck magret with candied chestnuts and red fruits

• Lamb chops with french fries

• Beef fricasée with seasonal mushrooms and mountain herbs

The seas offers us their fish and seafood, which we cook with old recipes and that continue to amaze us. Some dishes that are never missing in the restaurant are:

Desserts

Every day, our pastry team prepares all the desserts. Some of them, created in our kitchen as the Pijama are already a classic of Catalan cuisine, and all of them are a sweet pleasure impossible to resist.

• Catalan crème brûlée with cinnamon.

  A classic among classics. A sweet cream with a special touch of cinnamon and a thin layer of sugar that looks like glass.

• Mr. Paco dessert alone or with coffee and Grand Marnier

  Created in 1960, it’s an ice cream biscuit with burnt sugar, crumbled nougat and cream.

• Classic Pijama.

  The name Pijama is a phonetic resource invented by Mr. Paco Parellada when officials of the United State Sixth Fleet (1951) raskd for the desserts known worldwide as "Peach Melba", to make it easier ti understand. It combines cold ice cream with other sweet elements, in this case, crème caramel, cream and crystalli-sed fruit.

• The 7 Portes Restaurant has a wide and careful selection of wines and cavas with the best national and international DOs; our wine list is designed to help during the process of choosing the most appropriate wine and our sommelier is always at your disposal for any questions.

Looking for Proust's Cupcake

• A good meal can be enjoyed in many ways, since many elements are involved that make what, a priori essential and recurring, special. The table, for example, becomes almost a magical element around which people share many things: a talk, a joke, a comment, a trip, a project or memories.
• But in fact when we eat consciously we go much further. Many sensations arise in us that make us feel alive. Sight makes what we see attractive to us; the ear creates part of the atmosphere of the environment in which we are; the scents transport us to those unique moments from a long time ago that suddenly seem real and the textures give personality to the different ingredients.
• When you taste something that your palate finds very pleasant and that your brain also links to some remote memory that you were not even aware of, then you can say that you have found Proust's Cupcake.
• We also like to call it the Ratatouille effect, as the endearing culinary critic of Pixar's film, Ego, showed us that when he tasted the ratatouille that had been prepared for him, he had a moment of maximum happiness that he found again with his mother when he was little.
